If you’ve read my other articles on the 2012 Macbook Pro refresh then you’ll know that one of my predictions for the updates is the integration of a retina display, probably somewhere around 2880×1800 in resolution. So, what’s the new evidence? in the most recent build of Mountain Lion (OS X 10.7.3), developers noticed that Apple has incorporated high resolution icons for some programs, the new resolution being 1024×1024 instead of 512×512. It seems likely to conclude that this means Apple will have retina display technology in the upcoming Macbook Pro’s although it’s worth mentioning that it could also be a high resolution iMac or Thunderbolt Display.
